 This past year has been particularly busy at the Tellico Plains Public Library! It is always wonderful to see so many of you using our general services and attending our programs. The library continues to increase the community's literacy with educational and fun opportunities through new and improved programs and services. There is a rise in attendance in general library use, programs, and services offered.
The Tellico Plains Public Library serves the town of Tellico Plains, along with the greater Tellico Plains areas.

In 2017-2018:
 The library offered 37 children’s programs attended by 267 children.
 The library offered 56 adult programs attended by 292 adults.
 13,422 patrons visited the library.
 Total yearly circulation was 30,798.

​In 2018-2019:
 The library offered 57 children’s programs attended by 985 children.
 The library offered 96 adult programs attended by 967 adults.
 18,817 patrons visited the library.
 Total yearly circulation was 38,193.

To accommodate the present and projected need for more library space, our Board of Trustees has plans to expand the library by building a learning center with designated children and adult learning areas. The total estimated construction cost is $350,000 and additional costs for interior furnishings. In order to secure possible matching grant funds from private foundations that could pay hopefully one fourth or more of the cost, we must have a considerable amount of money raised that is designated specifically for the building of the learning center. We have started a Tellico Plains Public Library Learning Center Building Fund campaign to raise the money for this addition. Presently volunteer donations total around $20,000 . Our goal is to raise at least $125,000 through donations and event fundraisers, apply for grants that would fund a portion of the cost, and continue raising the remainder of the building funds. We will provide regular updates on the progress of the building fund and the building of the learning center on the bulletin board at the library, the Tellico Plains Public Library Facebook page and local newspapers.
